The BOXLAB Blackout Patch is designed for the fast, safe, and practical covering of invalid or no longer required warning plates. In daily transport and logistics operations, removing existing plates is often time-consuming, involves a risk of injury, or is not feasible due to operational constraints or lack of proper tools. The Blackout Patch provides an efficient alternative by enabling the immediate deactivation of existing markings through simple overlay.

Dimensions and coverage

With its size of 450 × 315 mm, the BOXLAB Blackout Patch is specifically designed to fully cover standard warning plates measuring 400 × 300 mm. The oversized format ensures complete and reliable coverage of the underlying plate – even in cases of slight misalignment or on uneven surfaces.

Material

The Blackout Patch is made from an opaque black material that is highly weather-resistant as well as oil- and dirt-repellent. It is suitable for long-term outdoor use and, thanks to its high flexibility, adapts reliably even to curved surfaces. The black surface effectively prevents any show-through of underlying warning plates and ensures a clear and visible covering.

Like all BOXLAB large-format products, the Blackout Patch features a separate peel tab at the top edge. This tab remains on the release liner due to an integrated slit, while the patch retains its full dimensions. This enables easy, clean, and safe application without compromising adhesive performance.
The peel tab is branded with the BOXLAB logo and stands for professional handling and consistent quality.

Application

The BOXLAB Blackout Patch is applied directly over the existing warning plate. Complete removal of the original marking is not required. For optimal adhesion, proper surface cleaning is recommended prior to application. The oversized design ensures full coverage of the existing warning plate.
